This is my jam right now. I seriously cannot wait to rock this with my white Current Elliot overalls.
These past few weeks I’ve been working on a lot of presentations about content and how brands can use it to drive more awareness, traffic, and revenue. Last week was Sheerluxe B2B, which is actually a B2C magazine hosting lifestyle content. I talked in front of 150 brand and agency representatives (including Topshop, Warehouse, Twitter, and Google) about how the environment of search marketing has changed, and how brands should be partnering with online influencers (such as bloggers) to create interesting content that will hopefully grab the attention of their consumers. It’s fascinating how brands must understand publishers in order to succeed. Everything is about content, and the emphasis on a good social media, content and influencer strategy will only increase with time.
This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of attending design week and speaking on the strategic use of Instagram to grow brand awareness. I loved speaking to architects and designers about this. I mean this in the nicest way, but it’s always surprising how much brands don’t know about these things. I think when working in house for a brand, people tend to live and breathe the brand. Because of this it’s so easy to get stuck in the detail and not take the time to step away and see the innovations happening in the industry. Regardless, I loved presenting and speaking about my experience both as a blogger and working on numerous retail brands like Vivienne Westwood, Selfridges, Liberty, Sweaty Betty.
Next week I’m off to Paris to present at a luxury conference in front of Louis Vuitton group, Chanel, Kering Group and more. I’ll be speaking about advanced search and content marketing. Watch this space for more!
